Lathe PM
Preventative maintenance for Lathe. Customers will learn how to perform a PM on a CNC lathe. Course will be limited to (4) students, working in groups of (2).
Milling PM
Preventative maintenance for Milling machine. Customers will learn how to perform a PM on a CNC mill. Course will be limited to (4) students, working in groups of (2).
Basic Mechanical Lathe
Basic mechanical maintenance for CNC lathe. Topics include basic safety; basic maintenance including daily checks and periodic maintenance; oiling systems/lubrication and their function; instruction on spindle alignment, runout and clamp force; axis backlash & corrections; belt adjustments; maintaining pneumatic systems. Course will be limited to (4) students, working in groups of (2). Subject to machine availability.
Axis Maintenance & Repair
Students will learn how to inspect and repair/rebuild a machine axis. Instruction includes how to make initial checks; replace bearings and ballscrews with an understanding of the different types of bearing configurations; how to check alignments of ballscrews and linear guide rails; inspect and adjust gibs; check backlash & skew and adjust compensation in control; verify lubrication and repair/replace related components; inspect and adjust motor couplings and belts (where applicable); how to set home position, grid shift and verify proper position through measurements. Course will be limited to (4) students, working in groups of (2). Subject to machine availability.
Turret Repair
Stucents will learn how to inspect and repair/rebuild a turret. Instruction includes how to make initial checks, disassembly, replacing components and re-assembly. Students will learn the different types of drive systems in a turret: hydraulic, induction motor, and NC motor and what is specific to each type when rebuilding a turret. Subject to machine availability.
